FINAL MAJOR PROJECT
For my final major project of my illustration degree, I created a wordless children’s book based around overcoming self-doubt and learning to not be afraid of making mistakes. Take a look at the work I created throughout this project!
This wordless picture book explores self-belief and finding the courage to grow. Timid Florence isn’t quite like the others. Whilst her friends shine, something hold her back. Can she find the confidence to bloom?
BLOOM - WORDLESS CHILDREN’S BOOK
Above is the final rough storyboard of the children’s book, following Florence’s journey of learning that mistakes are not necessarily failures.
Examples of fully illustrated spreads and vignettes from the book, which were all drawn digitally.

POSTER DESIGN
Based on the themes covered in the children’s book, this poster design is intended to inspire young audiences.
Based on the Guatemalan tradition, I created a worry doll based on the main character, Florence, from my children’s book. The premise is that children (or their parents) can write down any of their worries or concerns onto a piece of paper, fold it up and tuck it in the pocket. Overnight, the worry doll will help to take some of their concerns away, which they can then tear the paper up.
